He is also the recipient of the 2021 Berklee Jazz Performance Award from the Berklee Piano Department.

Sergio has performed in the 2022 TV broadcasted Latin Grammy gala (Las Vegas, NV), the Wang Theater (Boston, MA), The Emmens Auditorium (Indianapolis, IN), the Latin Recording Academy (Miami, FL), the Agganis Arena (Boston, MA) and in festivals and jazz venues such as Wally’s Cafe, Beehive, Red Room, Oliver Colvin, Berklee Performance Center, etc or in Galicia Imaxinasons, Canjazz, Nigranjazz, La Casa de Arriba, Vitruvia Café, etc.

Sergio has graduated from Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) double majoring in Piano Performance and Film Scoring on a full tuition scholarship, as he received the  2019 Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation «Prodigy» Award. He has studied with international jazz musicians and professors such as Kenny Barron, Aaron Parks, Fred Hersch, Harold López-Nussa, Billy Childs, Vadim Neselovskyi, Alain Mallet, Maxim Lubarsky, Nando Michelin, Ariel Brínguez, Reinier Elizalde «El Negrón», Kevin Harris, Zahili González or Robert Christopherson and Spanish musicians like Abe Rábade, Xosé Miguélez or Toni Belenguer.

In April 2023 he released his first album «Atlántida» where he fuses his Galician roots with flamenco, jazz, world music and compositional elements from classical and contemporary music. One of the main characteristics of this project is its cultural diversity since it not only presents these influences but also has the talent of musicians from Spain, the United States, the Dominican Republic, Bulgaria, Colombia, Japan, Cuba or Brazil; musicians who bring their essence to the project and make it have a unique sound.

In his previous and first EP «Espirales» (2020), Sergio fuses his Galician and Spanish roots with world music, traditional and modern jazz harmony. In «Espirales» improvisation acquires great importance and new textures and colors are explored, new ways of approaching the jazz trio, by combining the different characteristics and tessituras of each instrument.
